Update/Backup
Since there is often a lot of work involved in setting up the devices and displaying them on the dashboard, it is imperative to back up your settings. HomeAssistant provides the function Backup function. With this function, you can create a backup or restore a backup.
First you must switch to the Backup menu.
To do this, go to the Edit mode of HomeAssistant via this icon on the 'Home' page of the dashboard:
On the left menu bar, select Settings and then the item System. In the next window select
Backups.
The list of your backups appears here. If no backups have been created yet, the list is empty.
Create backup
At the bottom left you will find the button + Create Backup. Press it there.
Here you can assign a name and activate password protection.
You can choose between 2 backup types. We recommend that you always create a Full Backup.
Now select Create. The process can take several minutes. Please be patient at this point.
Please note that a Full Backup requires a lot of storage space. Depending on the configuration more than 700MB. If you do not want to occupy the storage space permanently, you can also transfer the backup file from your SmartBuddy to your PC. You will find more detailed information on this in the Additional functions section.
Restore backup
To restore an earlier backup, select the backup in the list. In the next window you can decide again
whether you want to import a complete backup or a partial backup.
Then select Restore. This process can take several minutes. Please be patient at this point.
